Installing chlorine filters for the shower (or showers) in your house could easily be one of the most important things you can do to protect your and your family’s health! Let me explain why.

Municipal water systems started putting chlorine into water over a hundred years ago in order to kill bacteria and viruses, like cholera. And it worked great! We no longer have outbreaks of deadly waterborne diseases in our country (the U. S.).

Once it’s put in, the chlorine is not taken out because it’s needed in the water as it goes from the treatment facility to your house to keep the water from recontamination. (Sometimes that transport time can be weeks!)

So, when your city’s water arrives at your house, it’s still go the chlorine in it.

Now, I hope you know you need to filter this chlorine out before you drink or cook in this water. But did you know you need to do the same before you shower in it?

I didn’t for a long time. But through researching the quality of our water, I learned that chlorine filters for the shower are just as important as filters for our other water.

Here’s the problem…and why you need chlorine shower head filters.

Chlorine is a poison! It was used in World War I as a weapon of mass destruction.

When you shower in water that’s chlorinated, it bonds to your hair and skin and destroys the natural bacterial balance. This can lead to all kinds of problems–dryness, itching, flaking, and even premature aging!

But this is not the worst problem with showering in chlorinated water.

There are several by-products of chlorine gas, such as trihalomethanes, chloroform, and many other synthetic chemicals that actually become vaporized in hot water. In other words, when you shower you’re regularly inhaling these gasses, and they can become a long-term health threat!

Finally, chlorine can be absorbed right through your skin into your body! You don’t have to drink water to ingest it! It can seep right through your pores.

You can actually ingest more harmful chemicals into your body during a shower than you can drinking unfiltered tap water!
